Enjoy a guided tour of Mills Cottage and hear about the recent conservation works currently being undertaken to the building. This includes plastering, carpentry and specialist wallpaper conservation and has been made possible through the State Government's Living Heritage Grants Program. Tours will be running on Sunday 27 May at each of the following times: 11:00am-12:00pm, 1:00-2:00pm, 3:00-4:00pm. Mills Cottage, built from 1843, is one of the oldest buildings in Victoria, and is currently infrequently opened to the public. The conservation works currently being undertaken to the interior and exterior of the building will allow increased public access to the site and ensure a viable future for the property. Join National Trust Conservation Architect Samantha Westbrooke and President of the Port Fairy Branch Marten Syme as they provide an overview of the works and point out the fascinating history of the Cottage’s construction, features and finishes.
