This architect's own luxury residence backs onto native eucalypt forests and stands as a sentinel at the Northern most point of the Lorne township. The views are nothing short of jaw dropping.

Easy walking distance to the pristine beaches of North Lorne, Rainbow's End is comprised of three upstairs bedrooms with the main bedroom having an associated dressing room and ensuite bathroom facilities. After a day on the beach, you will be lulled to sleep each night by the crashing of the surf directly below.

Two additional upstairs double bedrooms are serviced by a large bathroom and an additional powder room.

Also at this level is the main living area with sweeping 270 degree views of the Southern Ocean. Here you can sit back with a good book in comfortable leather armchairs while also counting the whales as they make their annual migration up and down the east coast of Australia.

The informal dining area is off to one side of the living room with views over the native forest. If you are lucky, you may just catch a glimpse of a koala asleep in the trees. The antique table is big enough to suit a large dinner party or cosy enough for that casual intimate dinner after a day on the beach.

The focal center of the main living area is the kitchen where you can whip up a gourmet extravaganza with state of the art appliances.

The whole of the upper level of the house is linked externally by a large semi-circular timber deck which overlooks the ocean below. On a warm summer's evening you can relax on here with a casual bbq dinner, a chilled bottle of local sauvignon blanc and watch the sun set over the horizon. However you need to watch out for the local kookaburras, rosellas and cockatoos which tend to hang around waiting to be hand fed. It is also not unusual to have a family of kangaroos come down to nibble on some of our more appetizing landscaped garden.

The lower level of the house has a further double bedroom and a second living room, a second bathroom and a fully equipped laundry. 

A sandstone paved sheltered private courtyard set in a landscaped garden is adjacent to the downstairs living area. On cooler sunny days this is a great place to kick off your shoes and relax with a good book.

A short stroll along the pristine beach takes you into the heart of Lorne for your breakfast and first coffee in one of the many seaside cafes. For more active types, you can jog along the beach as far as the pier and the fish co-op and bring back some freshly caught fish or local crayfish for the bbq that evening
