The Anglesea Regatta

An annual rowing event held on the Anglesea River
The Anglesea Regatta is hosted by the Anglesea Recreation and Sports Club. The club was founded on a challenge between the ‘lads’ of Anglesea and Aireys Inlet on the 28th December 1910. The first ‘competition’ was held on the Anglesea River on the 3rd January 1911 and after several years, it became an Annual rowing regatta held on New Year’s Day. In 2011 it celebrated 100 years since the first regatta and as part of the Centenary Celebrations.
