THE OTWAYS or as we like to call it GOD’S COUNTRY

For a little extra here is what we think!

Where we eat:

Deans Marsh General Store – It may be that you want to get a takeaway coffee personally delivered to you on your tractor or you’re just after a delicious home cooked lunch. Either way, we eat at the Deans Marsh General store all the time.

Bespoke Harvest – We are blessed because we are surrounded by so many fine dining restaurants and Bespoke is one of them. You have to book and make sure you’re cashed up but you will not be disappointed.

Where to get the best beer:

Forrest Brewery -  You will see a gaggle of Lycra-clad gentlemen who are indulging in a locally brewed beer after a hard day on the amazing Mountain Bike trails Forrest has to offer. And you will delight in the relaxed cosy atmosphere that is perfect for a winter’s day. The food is also spot on.

Where to get the best coffee:

Again we can’t go past the Deans Marsh General Store for a delicious cup of caffeinated goodness.

Where you can get supplies and Fuel:

It is super important that when you are adventuring in God’s country that you have a decent amount of fuel in your tank. Many of the little towns do not have petrol stations so make sure you fill up in  Colac, Winchelsea, Apollo Bay or Lorne depending on where you are coming from.

What is on:

Birregurra Festival – Just go for the food and wine it is so good.

Which car parks to check if you’re keen for a Surf:

Ditch the board the line up is getting way too crowded anyway. Jump on your Bike, the Otway Shire is spending so much time and money on the trails around Forrest.

Who to call if you need extra info:

It’s true we do not have an office in the Hinterlands however many of us live or have lived out there at one time or another. Call out Lorne or Apollo Bay office and we will make sure we get you all juicy info from the locals amongst us.
